Taming the Civil 3Demon: FATAL ERROR of the Day

The past few days I have been working with a client who had been getting this Fatal Error every time he hit the plot button in AutoCAD 2007, Civil 3D 2007 and Land Desktop 2007:

Fatal Error: Unhandled Access Violation Writing 0x6d0079 Exception at 781354dch

He would press the plot button and immediately crash. No dialog box, no opportunity to choose a plotter, nothing.

If you get this Fatal Error, it may be because your .pc3 or ctb files are corrupt or from an earlier version. Try making new .pc3 or .ctb files specifically for 2007. I can’t guarantee this will fix it, but it worked for us.
